Ygnition Digital Home Phone

What is Ygnition Digital Home Phone?

Ygnition Digital Home Phone uses Voice over Internet Protocol, which allows you to make and receive calls through your broadband Internet connection using a standard touch-tone phone.

How does Ygnition Digital Home Phone work?

Ygnition Digital Home Phone service works with any touch tone, corded or cordless telephone. Our Phone Adapter (ATA) converts your phone calls into data which is sent through your high-speed Internet connection. You can call anywhere at anytime for less than a standard home phone line, and your number can go everywhere you do!

What features are included with Ygnition Digital Home Phone?

Most features you would enjoy on a standard home phone line are included with the Digital Home Phone service plus many more:

  • Unlimited Local and Long Distance calling within the US and Canada
  • Call Waiting
  • Caller ID
  • Three-way calling
  • Voice Mail
  • Call Block
  • International Calling
Do I need a special type of phone to use Ygnition Digital Home Phone service?

No. Ygnition Digital Home Phone service works with any touch tone, corded or cordless telephone.

Do I need to have my computer turned on when I talk on the phone?

No. Your computer does not need to be turned on when using Ygnition Digital Home Phone service.

Can I still use the Internet while making phone calls?

Yes. Your computer and Ygnition Digital Home Phone service can share the Internet connection.

What is a virtual phone number?

For a small fee, a virtual phone number allows you to have a second phone number from an alternate area code.  This is often used so that family members in another area code can call you within their own area code, which allows them to avoid long distance charges.

Can I make international phone calls?

Ygnition Digital Home Phone service does permit International calling however a credit card is required to be kept on the account to enable International calling. Calling rates vary depending upon the country you are calling to. Visit the Digital Home Phone section of our webpage or call for more details.

What is E911?

While the E911 system through Digital Home Phone services will appear to work very similarly to your standard analog telephone, there are a few important differences you need to be aware of.

  • Due to the portable nature of Ygnition Digital Home Phone service, E911 must be activated in order for the police and fire departments in your area to know where you are located. The best way to do this is through the online account portal at www.ygnition.com/voiceportal. Until you login to the portal and enter your physical address, our system cannot determine where your device and phone are being used.
  • Each time you move or travel with your Phone Adapter (ATA), you will need to update your information on the account portal. It may take a few days to activate and change your location within the 911 system, so please be sure to register well in advance of  moving the location of your Digital Home Phone service.
  • Electrical or Broadband Outages can prevent 911 dialing with our system as your phone service is relying on both your broadband connection and electrical power. If these go out, so will your Digital Home Phone service. Once the power and broadband connection return, your service will be restored.
Can I keep the phone number I currently have with Ygnition’s Digital Home phone service?

Yes.  Your current number can be ported over from your previous phone provider to Ygnition Dital Home Phone. However it can take up to 30 days to finalize the changes and the number must stay active with the previous provider during this process.  If the number does not stay active with the previous provider during the porting process, your previous provider may release the number to another customer.

Can I use a fax with Ygnition Digital Home phone service?

While Ygnition Digital Home phone is primarily a service designed specifically for voice communications our customers have experienced good results in using it for their fax needs as well.
